Which mango purée should I choose?

With four varieties of mango to choose from, you can select the purée that best suits your requirements. Unsure which one is right for you? Below is an overview of each variety.

Kesar Mangoes

Kesar mangoes are oval-shaped, medium-sized, and have a golden yellow colour when ripe. They are sweet, juicy, and have a unique aroma that makes them popular for use in desserts and drinks.

Sindhura Mangoes

Sindhura mangoes are small to medium-sized, with a reddish-orange skin and a juicy, sweet flesh. They are known for their intense flavour and aroma and are used for making desserts, drinks, and sauces.

Totapuri Mangoes

Totapuri mangoes are large, oblong-shaped, and have a distinct pointed end. They are not as sweet as other varieties and have a tangy, slightly sour flavour. They are often used in cooking, especially in chutneys, pickles, and curries.

Western Alphonso Mangoes

Western Alphonso mangoes are known for their rich, creamy, and sweet flesh. They have a golden yellow skin and a small seed. They are popular for use in desserts, drinks, and sauces and are often referred to as the “king of mangoes.”
In summary, Kesar and Sindhura mangoes are both sweet and juicy and are often used in desserts and drinks, while Totapuri mangoes have a tangy and sour flavour and are used in cooking. Western Alphonso mangoes are known for their creamy texture and are popular in desserts and sauces, both for their great taste and vibrant colour.
